Northwest Stream Center Discover Day Morning Coffee & Hot Chocolate
May 18 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm PDT
Discover the Adopt A Stream Foundation’s (AASF) fabulous Northwest Stream Center Saturday, May 18, 10am to 3pm. Discovery Day admission is FREE. Enjoy the the big attraction: a leisurely stroll on the 1/2-mile long Nature Trail past a Trout Stream Exhibit with viewing windows, onto an incredible Elevated Wetland and Forest Walk that winds through 25-acres, three-feet above the forest floor and surrounding wetlands. Reserve a time slot by calling 425-316-8592.
Early birds will also be able to enjoy low-priced morning Streamkeeper Blend coffee and European style “sipping chocolate” on the Streamwalk Plaza next to the Visitors Building. At 11 am, there will be a brief showing of amazing AASF salmon stream restoration projects that began over ten years ago. Wild flowers are in full bloom on the Nature Trail where everyone will enjoy learning the interconnections between forests, wetlands, streams, wildlife and people.
The Nature Trail is universally accessible, fine for baby carriages, wheelchairs and walkers…sorry, pet dogs are not allowed. Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Also, to further minimize disturbance of Northwest Stream Center wildlife, visitor access to the Nature Trail is limited to no more than 30 per half-hour. Call 425-316-8592 in advance.
