How to “Adopt” a Stream
Want to find out how to “adopt” your local stream? On Thursday, May 30 at 7pm, stream ecologist Tom Murdoch will present “five steps of how to adopt a stream” that work! This event takes place at the Adopt A Stream Foundation’s Northwest Stream Center (NWSC) Thursday night, May 30 at 7pm. The NWSC is located at the south end of Snohomish County’s McCollum Park, 600 128th Street SE, Everett WA 9820. Advance registration is required by calling 425-316-8592; $5 Adopt A Stream Foundation Members, $7 non-members. Murdoch is the editor of Adopting A Stream: A NW Handbook and Co-Author of the Streamkeeper’s Field Guide: Watershed Inventory and Stream Monitoring Methods. During this fast paced presentation, Murdoch will not only teach you how to gather and use physical, biological, and chemical information to protect your stream, but he will teach you the politics of your local watershed. Great local examples will be shared – attend and you will leave inspired to take action!
