The Northwest Stream Center was created as a regional environmental education learning facility to address the critical need to provide the public with information and training in stream and wetland ecology and fish and wildlife habitat restoration. It is ideally located on a 20-acre site in McCollum Park, which lies 1/2 mile east of Interstate 5 between Everett and Seattle, Washington. The property is leased from Snohomish County. When complete, the Northwest Stream Center will welcome visitors from around the region to receive “basic training” in watershed ecology and stewardship.

INDOOR FEATURES INCLUDE:

  • Resource Library (accommodates 8-10) Sponsored by the GTE Foundation. Contains books, journals, academic papers, video tapes, maps, and other resources related to stream and wetland ecology, as well as information on lakes, estuaries and oceans. Non-circulating materials are for use by professionals, researchers, teachers, students and the general public and include curriculum materials, scientific journals, identification guides, textbooks, environmental impact statements, planning and informational brochures from other organizations. Volunteers are creating a resource catalog, which will be available on line in future. We are still in the process of acquiring materials and always eager to receive suggestions and donations.
